Name:   Chuck Woods
Subject:   Colorado Inside Out - opening montage
Date:   May 1, 2008

Since the title is " 'Colorado' Inside Out" I think the opening montage would be more indicitive of the show if more than one or two shots were beyond a 20 mile radius of Broadway and Colfax. There is a lot of Colorado beyond what can be seen from the capitol steps.

KBDI Response:

Dear Chuck,

Thank you for your interest in KBDI programming. We always enjoy hearing from our viewers even when they don’t always like what they see.

Colorado Inside Out’s opening was shot in Denver.  Although Denver is not the only place for scenic footage in Colorado, we chose to shoot the opening in the capitol city since most of the show’s topics tend to centralize around politics.  We hope to expand our shots when we are in Colorado Springs covering the Democratic State Convention.  If you have any great photos that you think we should add to show the true flavor of the state, please feel free to send them along.

We hope you keep tuning in to see the opinions and viewpoints of your favorite panelists.

Thanks again for your note and for watching and supporting KBDI-TV Colorado Public Television.

Sincerely,

Name:   Richard Hickey
Subject:   Colorado Inside Out - Craig Silverman Attack
Date:   April 24, 2008
The personal attack by Craig Silverman last week on Dani Newsom was uncalled for and highly objectional. This is something he might do on his radio show, but is offensive in what is supposed to be a discussion show. Also, the failure of the moderator to stop the attack was not acceptable. Unless there are public apologies by Craig Silverman, Raj Chohan, and KBDI, I will no longer support KBDI.
KBDI Response:

Dear Richard,

Thank you for your interest in KBDI programming. We always enjoy hearing from our viewers even when they don’t always like what they see.

Colorado Inside Out has always been the home of volatile issues and sometimes volatile personalities.  Although I didn’t agree with Craig Silverman’s critique of Dani Newsum, I did agree with Raj Chohan’s move to let Dani respond and then to fulfill her wishes by moving on.  That was the best move in light of the tense situation and the panel recovered due to that move.  Not everyone may agree, but in the heat of the situation, it was the best move for the show.

We hope you reconsider your decision to stop watching the show.  I think you can count on Colorado Inside Out to be a civil yet interesting discussion of the issues.

Thanks again for your note and for watching and supporting KBDI-TV Colorado Public Television.

Sincerely,

Dominic Dezzutti
Director of Production
