The Rampart High School performing arts department is proud to present "The Night Thoreau Spent In Jail" by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. Performances will be held on November 6th and 7th at 7 pm. "The young Henry David Thoreau, philosopher, poet and naturalist refused to pay taxes to the government, which was engaged in the Mexican War. For his courageous and unprecedented act of protest, he was thrown in jail. Thoreau was a man of the future. Over the past centruy, his action has had worldwide repercussions. Tolstoy was influenced by his stand, and Gandhi based his passive resistance campaign on the words of the philosopher of Walden Pond." Tickets cost $5 for students and senior citizens, $7 for adults if bought in advance, a dollar more at the door.
