Over the Air:
FYI: KBDI has started the work necessary to bring our free digital over-the-air channels to the Colorado Springs / Pueblo area. To complete this work, we must retrofit our current channel 12 analog transmitter into a digital transmitter and then will relocate the digital transmitter from our main transmitter site on Squaw Mountain to Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs. We expect to be transmitting three digital channels to the Colorado Springs / Pueblo area by mid- to late-2009. In the meantime, KBDI will continue to broadcast channel 32 analog.
Yes. Since you live in an area where television signals are broadcast from a translator, you will need a converter box with an analog pass-through feature. This special converter box will allow your TV to receive both analog (the current broadcasting technology) as well as the future digital signals. With this feature, you'll have access to all your local stations until everyone switches over to digital. There are at least six coupon-eligible boxes that offer the analog pass-through feature:
For the most up-to-date list, visit dtv2009.gov. You can buy a converter box with an analog pass-through feature using one of the $40 coupons from the federal government. Order a converter box coupon.

Satellite:
FYI: Colorado Public Television continues to work with cable companies, DirecTV and DISH Network to secure agreements in which they each will carry our flagship station as well as digital multicast channels (12.2 and 12.3). We urge those of you that receive us via cable, DirecTV or DISH Network to let them know you are interested in receiving the full complement of KBDI’s digital channels. © 2008, TeamSoper-OPB |
