The Right Tree in the Right Place

Now is a great time to plant trees. When choosing a tree, it’s important to avoid planting one that will eventually grow into power lines. The small tree that seemed to fit well at the nursery can grow quickly, interfering with the power lines on your street or property.

Plant trees within 30 feet from power lines. Remember, too, that some utilities run underground. For your own safety, call 1-800-922-1987 for the exact location of underground electric and natural gas before you dig to plant a shrub or tree.

This reminder is brought to you by Xcel Energy, a proud sponsor of KBDI-Channel 12.
